What is a Driving Licence?
Driving is an Id which a driver needs to run two and four-wheelers officially on the road. It is issued by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) or Regional Transport Office (RTO) of that specific state.
A driving licence is defined under the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 and It is clearly mentioned under this act that no person is permitted to drive a vehicle at a public place or on a road without a proper driving Licence.

Learning Driving Licence
Learning driving licence is issued to a person whose driving status is at the learning stage. Any person below the age of 18 can apply for this driving licence. After 30 days of issuance, you can apply for a permanent licence.
Once you have applied for a learning driving licence, then a person needs to prove that they know to drive by giving a driving test.
Requirements:
- You should have the knowledge of traffic rules and regulation.
- Your age should be minimum 16 year or above.
- You should have to pass the driving test to get the learning driving licence.

Permanent Driving Licence
A permanent driving licence is issued to a person who holds the learners driving licence and has successfully completed the learning licence validity period. After applying for a permanent driving licence you will get an official driving licence ID card issued by RTO, in which all the details of the driver is given such as license number, name address, signature, etc.

- You must have a valid learning driving licence.
- Your age should be above 18 years.

Commercial Driving Licence
Commercial Driving Licence issued to a person who wants the licence for commercial transports such as bus, truck, etc. In other words it is the licence for a commercial vehicle.
Requirements
- You must have a valid learning licence.
- Your vehicle should be used commercially to apply for this licence type.
- Your age should be above 18 years (for some states it is 20 years).
- You must have passed 8th standard.

An international driving licence is issued to a person who wants a driving license to drive in a foreign country. You can easily rent or buy vehicles in a foreign land if you have this international driving licence permit.
